Sacrament Meeting Musts

So I thought I'd write a little about what I bring to sacrament to help my son. I know that some of you have those adorable children, that will sit with their arms folded from the beginning to the end of the meeting and won't even make a peep. Unfortunately I was not blessed with that kind of child. My son is active, defiant, loud, mischievous and destructive. Therefore, it takes a lot of planning to make it through even the first half of sacrament!
Some things that I found help are to bring multiple quiet activities. I found that I can plan on each activity lasting about 3-5 minutes, sad I know. Therefore, a large bag is a must! I usually bring a puzzle (I found a pack at Wal-mart for $3), a small magnadoodle (I found mine at Broulims for $3.99), a coloring book (color wonder is fantastic because it will only write on the color wonder paper), a book about christ for during the sacrament, juice, quiet snacks, a couple quiet toys: cars, transfromers, etc. The last thing I bring is my secret weapon, dum dum lollipops. When you don't have any patience left and you're ready to call it quits, pull out one of those suckers, and you've just bought yourself about 5 minutes! Something I found was that you should only bring one or two, bringing more than two will just create a huge temper tantrum. For those of you who remember the child screaming bloody murder last month in sacrament meeting, it was because I brought the whole package of suckers!
Another great resource for you is an article I found on a website called mormonchic.com. Here's the link, check it out!

I am really excited about this blog! Thanks for making it, Fay. I am excited to make our next quiet time activity project. By the way, I have never ever seen any little kid fold his arms and sit quietly clear though sacrament! :) They just don't exist. But that's not bad if you belong to our enrichment group!

Color wonder...I need to remember that. Now if they only made crayons that were completely disgusting, then maybe Logan wouldn't eat them.

This is awesome Fay, thanks for inviting me to see it!
